Every town has that house.
The one you crossed the street to avoid.
The one your grandmother whispered about.
The one with the flickering light in the attic that “shouldn’t be on.”
Whether you grew up in a sleepy Southern town or a snow-drenched village tucked in the hills, I believe every place has its haunt. And I want to hear about yours.
As a writer of grief-laced ghost stories and folklore-twined fiction, I’m always searching for real-life whispers and forgotten legends. The stories passed around campfires, murmured in church basements, or buried under layers of polite silence. The ones that live in the walls.
🌒 What I’m Looking For:
A personal experience with a haunting (even if you don’t believe in ghosts).
A local urban legend from your hometown or region.
A family ghost story passed down through generations.
Any creepy tale where someone saw, felt, or just knew something was wrong.
✍️ How It Might Be Used:
I may feature select stories on this blog with full credit (or anonymously, if you prefer). Some might inspire future fiction or short stories published under my pen name, Elowen Graves. Think of it like folklore preservation — with a gothic twist.
If your story gives me chills, I may even reach out to develop it into a full piece of fiction — a spectral collaboration between us and the spirits still clinging to the tale.
đź’Ś How to Submit:
Email your ghost story to elowengraves2025@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram @shelfinducedfear.
Please include:
Your name (or let me know if you’d like to remain anonymous)
The location (town, state, or country)
As many vivid details as you can remember
đź–¤ Why This Matters
Ghost stories are not just horror — they are grief stories, memory stories, love stories.
They tether us to places, to people, and to parts of ourselves we rarely speak aloud.
Let’s keep them alive.
Tell me your tale,
and maybe we’ll write it into something that refuses to rest.
